WattsOn-Mark II XBUS Port
The XBUS port (to the left of the Modbus Port) was designed for future expansion devices for use with the WattsOn-Mark II.
The XBUS port uses a proprietary version of Modbus/RTU. It is technically permissible to use the XBUS port as a secondary RS-485 Modbus/RTU port with very specific requirements:
- The port is shared with the on-board display (if equipped). If used in this case, any communications over this port may interfere with the functionality of the display, therefore this should only be done on meters without a display, OR at very low polling frequencies.
- The communication settings must be 115200, N, 8, 1 and cannot be changed
- Only the meter can be communicated with, as it will respond to any Modbus address.
This method of communication is not directly recommended by Elkor, and therefore no technical support for this method is offered.
